WEST YORK -Rufus H. "Ruf' Heiland, 75, of West York, died Tuesday morning at his home. He Was the husband of the late Pauline May (Weigle) Staley Heiland. Following cremation, a memorial service will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. The Robert F. Koller Funeral Home Inc.; 2000 W. Market St., York, is in . charge of arrangements. Mr. Heiland was born Dec. 31, i 1925, in West Manchester Township. , He was the son of the late John M. 1 and Cora Ann (Trimmer) Heiland. He was a refrigerator man for , Green's Dairy, retiring in 1991 after , more than 35 years of service. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of White Rose Senior Center, Windy Hills Bowling League, Antique Car Club of York and Green's Dairy 25-year club. Mr. Heiland is survived by a daughter, Doris M. Fauth of West York; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harry H. Heiland, Gene C. Heiland and Gary E. Heiland, all of York; and three sisters, Verna A. Haynes and Barbara L. Gemmill, both of York, and Bertha J. Markle of Ortanna. Mr. Heiland was preceded in death by a grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windy Hill Senior Center, 5101 Darlington Road, York 17404.
