General Note
Several photos in file. One signed pencil drawing in file based on Bartholomew's Progressive Drawing Cards, apparently a method used to teach drawing during the 1880's. Three signed maps (oversize) of England (dated March 1882, at age 14), North America (dated Dec 8, 1882), and Pennsylvania (no date). Three other very intricate art exercises also in file (oversize) Sketchbook also in file, could be either Laura's or Leah's. Incredible detail. Very engaging material. Coin box with Leah Pflieger's name written on bottom, currently held by David R. Stephenson III, is believed to have been made by her father, Alexander W. Pflieger.

The following is from obituary in newspaper, ca Jan 23, 1909:

Miss Leah O. Pflieger, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Pflieger, died at her home, 320 East Princess Street at 8:10 o'clock Saturday evening. Death was due to Brights' disease, from which she has been suffering for seven months. Her condition was not considered serious until about three weeks ago. She is survived by two sisters, the Misses Laura J. and Margaret E. Pflieger. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be made in Prospect Hill cemetery.
