The following information is taken from Dorothy Hall Givens' book and Frederick Lee Phlegar
(family records): John lived on the farm originally occupied by David Johnston when he first came from Culpeper Co., in 1778, which was on the long plateau between Little and Big Stoney Creeks that lay along the east side of New River between the present towns of Pembroke and Ripplemead. The Phlegar family cemetery on this farm has in it the graves of David and Nannie (Abbott) Johnston. |
