General Note
See letter in file to Alexander Pflieger dated December 29, 1853 regarding lease of property on the southeast corner of S. George and Princess Streets in York, PA. This site is across from the Post Office.

From Gibson, pg367 -

"Adam S. Pflieger was a member of the board of directors in the South ward who served in regular succession from 1847 to 1886. The borough, from the organization of the school system was divided into two wards for school purposes, vis: North and South, which division continued to the present time in the purchase, ownership and sale of school property, or erection of new buildings, a separate and distinct tax being levied in each ward for this purpose".
