General Note
Also know as:

John Michael Phlegar

Note change of spelling from PFLIEGER to PHLEGAR

According to Robert G. Phlegar of Salem, VA, Michael joined his two brothers, Abraham and George Frederick, in Floyd Co, VA sometime after 1804. Michael's two older brothers left York in the late 1770s or early 1780s and settled at Middletown, Frederick Co, VA. In 1804 they moved to Jacksonville, Montgomery Co, VA which is now Floyd, Floyd Co, VA. He believes that Michael joined them in Floyd Co. at that time.

Information from D.A.R. No. 127605 (Eula Willis) lists Eva Catherine *** as John Michael Pflieger's wife, as does Dorothy Hall Givens' book. Michael Gulden furnished her last name as Eva Catherine Chatbuins. However, a Historical Society of York County source lists Elizabeth Reisinger marrying a John Michael Pflieger on Dec 13, 1807. John Michael Pflieger (son of George Frederick) had already moved to Floyd County, VA, by this time, having purchased land in that area on November 15, 1802. There could be another John Michael Pflieger in the York, PA area.

Other information researched by Frederick Lee Phlegar and Michael C. Gulden (records of Zion Lutheran Church, Floyd Co, VA).
