The following is from Trout-Prowell's History, pg925:

"Samuel Weiser, a descendant of the Tulpehocken settlement, came to York in 1780 and immediately commenced the business of hatter in the building on the present site of Jacob Wilt's jewelry store on E. Market St. He continued in business until 1822 but opened a dry goods store in 1808 on the corner still occupied by his descendants. During the war of 1812 he employed about 50 workmen making hats and sent wagonloads of them every Monday morning to Baltimore. He died in 1834 aged 74 years and his remains are interred in the grave yard of Christ Lutheran Church. They have since been removed to Prospect Hill cemetery. He was married to Eve Pflieger and had eight children: Samuel, Jacob, Charles, Daniel, Catherine, Eliza, Margaret and Cassandra."

Information researched by Williamine Ralph Lauer, Michael C. Gulden, Melanie Dalton Crain, Margaret E. Pflieger and David R. Stephenson III. No further title blocks for children developed because the names are too dissimilar.
