The following is from notes compiled by Margaret E. Pflieger:

Jacob Pflieger [?-ca1800], evidently the oldest son of George [Hans George Frederick Pflieger], died intestate shortly before April 17, 1800, on which date letters of administration on this estate were granted to Barnhart Pflieger, a son, and Martin Ebert, they giving bond in the sum of Four hundred Dollars with Simon Minnich and Samuel Weiser as sureties. He lived in York Township and the name of his wife who was living in 1788 and apparently was dead in 1800 was Catherine. A warrant for 283 acres 124 perches of land and allowances in York and Codorus Townships adjoining land of Frederick Pflieger was granted to him December 19, 1766, and another warrant for 42 acres 65 perches in Codorus Township was granted to him July 31, 1772. The lands were surveyed to him and out of these lands he and his wife (both signing by mark) surveyed 87 acres 68 perches to George Pflieger, his eldest son, recited as a resident of Codorus Township by deed dated May 20, 1788, recorded in Record Book 2E, page 367. This conveyance was taken by George in full for his share of his father's estate as is evidenced by a release executed by George to his father May 17, 1794, Record Book 2K.96.

After the death of the father, Jacob Pflieger [1757-1829], his second son, petitioned the Orphan's Court of York County on Sept 30, 1800, Orphans Court Docket No.140, setting forth that his father Jacob died about five months before, intestate, seized a tract of land in York and Codorus Townships and leaving to survive his eleven children as follows: - George Jacob (who was advanced as...

Philip who died in late January or early February 1791, to Martin Ebert and Simon Minnich, leaving to survive him a widow Barbara and three children, Eve, born October 1787, Margaret, born November 1789, and Catherine, born December 1790, for whom on petition of their mother, the Orphans Court March 27, 1792, Orphans' Court docket F page 346, appointed Martin Ebert guardian. Their mother, Barbara, was apparently dead at the time of the partition proceedings. She was a daughter of Henry Messersmith who died prior to April 30, 1787, and her sister, whose name is given as Margaret, was the wife of George Pflieger, as is shown by a deed from the heirs of Henry Messersmith dated April 30, 1787, recorded in Record Book 2 [illegible symbol] 522.
