DOVER Gladys "Cas" Zeigler, 86, died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday,
December 30, 2007, at Manor Care North. She was the wife of the late Howard W. Zeigler.
She was born June 16, 1921, in Conewago Township , a daughter of the late Penrose and
Minnie (Fetrow) Beck. Gladys was a homemaker who attended St. David's E.C. Church, Dover.
She was also a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved
caring for and spending time with children and her family. Gladys is survived by a son,
Kenneth C. Zeigler and his wife, Vonnie of Dover; a daughter, Charmaine Linch and her
husband, Sidney of Dover; five grandchildren, Toddette Myers of Dover, Howard J. Zeigler
of Lewisberry, Kenneth C. Zeigler, Jr. of Dover, Kendra Taylor of California, and Davida
Lauer of Dover; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Romaine
Bechtel of Shiloh; a stepsister, Florence Tome of Mount Wolf; a foster daughter, Karen
Fritz of Glen Rock; five foster sons, Dale Hughes and Wayne Knaub, both of Dover, Timothy
Crisamore of Thomasville, Curvin Deitz of York, and James Decker of Hanover; and many,
many other foster children whom she loved and welcomed with open arms into her family. She
was preceded in death by a foster son, Scott Hughes. Relatives and friends are
respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 10 a.m. Friday and the viewings from 6 to 8
p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at St. David's E.C. Church, 2411 Oakland Road, Dover.
Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. N.
Patrick Teaford. Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover, is in charge of arrangements.
