HISTORICAL WALK 2006
On June 20, we had a beautiful evening for the 2006 Historical Walk. It was not too hot and no rain. We started from the Log Cabin in the Community Park and walked about 2 miles around the Dover Borough with Kay Stitley as the narrator. We walked along West Canal St. to East Canal Street, then up to the rebuilt Blacksmith Shop in Ketterman Park on Butter Road. Then the group headed back to Main Street with Kay telling us the history about the various houses along the way. We then proceeded down South Main Street and made our way to the school parking lot. Kay said the 3 room school house used to be located where the drive way is now. We ended our tour at the Log Cabin for refreshments. We had a very nice turnout. The society looks forward to holding the event again next year.
