– Board of Directors Meeting
- 645PM
– Regular Business meeting called to order by President Ron Botterbusch
- President
Ron informed Lucia that the Board of Directors accepted her planting
proposal at the Archives Building.
- Secretary
read the minutes from the May 19 meeting. The following are corrections to
those minutes:
- A
picture of the descendants of Rehmeyers Hollow
- $58,000.00
worth of prescriptions not residents
- Sharon
Kemper took back the following donated items: newer menu; Public Sale Notice dated
10-18-04 and pictures – total of 4 in 1 plastic sleeve
- Norma
stated KT”s Pizza Shop donated 5 pizza’s for May 21 Timber Raising Day at
the Blacksmith Shop. This notation will be added to these meetings
minutes.
Motion to approve
the minutes made by Larry Law and Audrey
Thompson. All members agreed.
- Treasurers
Report was given by Bob Merkert. Motion to approve by Madelyn Shermyer and
Norma Botterbusch. All members agreed.
- Dr.
Drawbaugh was not present for an Archivist report and Gayle stated there
was no donations this past month.
- Our
web Master Brett Pleiger stated the May meeting minutes were added to the
web site. No other activity.
- Fundraising
Chairperson Norma stated there were still quilt tickets available before
the drawing on June 21 and garbage bags were still available. Effective
January 2006, with the new quilt fundraiser, a certain number of tickets
will be given to each member to sell.
- Madelyn
Shermeyer updated us on the Bloodroot project. It was determined the first
five books combined would be about 500 pages. The members agreed that
Maddie should ask for a draft of the first three volumes combined and then
a vote will be cast.
NOTATION: Volumes 1 and 2 has 107 pages / Volumes 3
and 4 have 288 pages / Volume 5 has 110 pages.
- Susan Forrey informed the group the next workday at
the Blacksmith Shop is June 25 from 8am until about noon. On July 9th is the day the
sides, doors and windows will be put on the shop. Norma Botterbusch asked
if all volunteers could bring a fruit.
- Kay Stitley reminded us the Boro Walk is this Tuesday
June 21 at 6pm. We will meet at the Log House in the Community Park.
- Norma reminded us about the Society Picnic scheduled
for July 21 at Lehr Park. We will begin to serve the food at 530pm.
Everyone is asked to bring a dessert unless asked by Norma to bring
something else.
- Lucia Hrinyak explained to the members about what is
to be planted at the Archives building in the fall and some things that
should be done now.
- Everyone sang Grace Trimmer Happy Birthday.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Madelyn Shermeyer was researching books in the
Township Building to answer questions from Amanda Phily Assistant Counsel
in the Governors Office, Penn Dot division. While Madelyn was researching
the answer, she found books containing Township meeting minutes as early
as 1917. The Township and the GDHS have agreed that these books need to be
scanned for posterity and used for future reference. Maddie will follow
up.
- Susan Forrey spoke a few minutes about the elections
to be held in November – the current Board has to step-down per the
By-Laws and 5 new Board members will be sworn in January 2006. She asked
that the members start thinking about holding a position on the Board or
accepting a nomination as an officer.
- Meeting was adjourned. Motion to adjourn by Randy
Worley and Larry Law.
Note; Jan Eisenhart gave Lucia a roll of yellow tape to
mark the trees that her committee wants taken down.
