GDHS MEETING MINUTES MAY 19

– Board of Directors Meeting
- 730pm
– President Ron Botterbusch brought the meeting to order
- The
Secretary read the minutes from the April 21st meeting. Motion
to approve the minutes by Jan Eisenhart and Key Stitley. All members
agreed.
- Bob
Merkert read the Treasurers report. Motion to approve made by Melvin
Miller and Brett Pfleiger. All members agreed.
- Dr
Charles Drawbaugh did not have an Archive report – however – he did inform
the members about his knee surgery.
- Assistant
Gayle Heagy informed the group about the donations to the Archives:
Charlotte Glass Biography: items such as a menu and pictures from Nellies
Restaurant and picture of Rehmeyers Hollow.
- Brett
Pfleiger informed the group that we switched web-hosting companies – from
Globat to One and One, which will give us 3 different domains. Brett also
asked if anyone could volunteer to help for the June 18th
Double Creek Run that benefits Healthy York
Pharmacy. The pharmacy helps low income patients pay for prescriptions.
About 58,000 residents of Dover
were helped last year.
- Fundraising
Chairperson Norma Botterbusch reminded us we still have garbage bags for
sale as well as quilt tickets. The grand drawing for the quilt is June 21
at the conclusion of the Dover Boro Walk.
- Madelyn
has had no contact with Joe about the Bloodroot Books
- Gayle
Heagy has put the Boro Homes Project on hold until the Blacksmith Shop is
completed.
- Susan
Forrey reminded the members about the May 21 workday for the Blacksmith
Shop. The group was informed that Fox Beverage donated cases of soda, tea
and water. John from Weavers donated 40 hamburgers.
- Kay
Stitley reminded us about June 21 Boro Walk. We will meet at the Log House
at 6pm. Kay told the group that she will be conducting a walking tour of
the Boro for the 3rd grade class of Leib Elementary students.
- Norma
has a sign up sheet for the picnic. Everyone is to bring a dessert unless
she asks you to bring something else.
- Bob
Merkert asked which accounts should be set up as tax-exempt. It was
decided that Sams Club, Wal-Mart and Staples.
- Lucia
Hrinyak from the Archives Landscape Committee talked about a tentative
list of supplies and plantings the committee has been reviewing. She asked
if any member has any flowers they would like to donate to let her know.
- The
meeting adjourned at 830pm.

- Next
meeting is June 15th at 730pm at The Calvary Church.
After the regular meeting, Lucia held an Archives Landscape
meeting.
- Lucia
had a drawing of the Archives building and a tentative list of the
plantings. She reviewed each entry for the members to discuss.
- A
final plan will be made and presented to the Board.
- A
Letter of Introduction will be sent to each nursery asking for donations.
- Meeting
began at 9pm. Meeting ended at 945pm.
